A barn somewhere in Westphalia. It flashes and hisses, Renate, the farmer's wife, is putting the finishing touches to Fido's UFO with the welding machine. Then it is repaired again. Fido is happy that he can finally fly home again after his adventures in the wilds of Westphalia in the first season. But something went wrong during the repair. Renate notices it, she has confused space with time, but Fido has already pressed the start button. The UFO buzzes and Fido, Renate and the little owl disappear in time. So begins the second season of the 18-part animated short series titled "Fido, the Outer-Westphalian," which is set to air a little more than a year after the final episode of the first season.
The series was created in co-production with the Westphalia Initiative Foundation and the City of Münster and with funding from the Heimat-Fonds of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Digitalization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Self-ironically exaggerated and with a wink, it conveys the history and future visions of Westphalia in 18 short animation clips.
From the Romans at the Battle of Varus, the Peace of Westphalia to the effects of man-made climate change - Fido stumbles into many an era in Westphalia and humorously confuses the course of history, sometimes unintentionally, sometimes deliberately. Fido and his companions travel to the era of the Peace of Westphalia several times, because on the 375th anniversary there is a lot to do to secure peace and save history!
